Richard was born November 30,
1930 in Portland, Oregon. He died October 29, 2015 in Seattle of congestive heart failure. He served in the 822nd Engineering Aviation Battalion in Korea. Rich taught Biology and P.E. at Chief Sealth and West Seattle High Schools where he was varsity basketball coach for 17 years and varsity tennis coach for 15 years.
He was survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara; daughters, Kathleen Lauzis (Oly) and Susan Finn (Don); eight grandchildren and their spouses and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial service was Friday, November 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Boulevard Park Church, 1822 South 128th St., Burien, Washington. Burial at Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery, November 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
